Invisible Visible Project

18 January 2018

The Invisible Visible project is a two year long participatory art project engaging women from six different communities in London, exploring menopause, peri-menopause and community through photography, storytelling and textile art, to share connect and celebrate our diverse voices together.

Produced by Denise Baker and led by writer Nichola Charalambou, artist Tisna Westerhof and photographer Denise Baker, the project challenges the silence and the lack of knowledge around this topic, widens the conversation and offers women of diverse backgrounds a safe space to share and discuss their unique experiences and express these through art, allowing other women (and men!) to learn from them. The free workshops stretched over a two year period held at art and community spaces across London and Kent, offer women the opportunity to learn new creative skills in a supportive, empowering environment, while exploring their own stories and journeys related to menopause and growing older.
