On Saturday I hosted my biggest workshop to date at The Dutch in London during Koningsdag or King’s Day, an orange filled Dutch celebration and national holiday held annually.
The day at the Dutch Centre saw between 1000 and 2000 ‘Dutchies’ from all over London, the UK and even the Netherlands, and over 200 children and adults made a Delft Blue tile
‘tegeltjeswijsheid’ or a ‘wish-dish’.
My intention was to inspire people to explore identity and heritage whilst having fun, creating an artwork with a wish or words of wisdom to themselves, to be reminded of their uniqueness as something special every day!
It was a wonderful day, gezellig is such a great word, that is hard to translate..!
I have received such beautiful feedback, made new connections and was delighted that some of my work found special new homes..!
