once in a blue moon

A series of 1970’s rural Dutch childhood memoriespainted in blue and white on wooden oval panels were created during lockdown, when people were banned from traveling abroad, preventing the artist from visiting her family and looking after her father who has Alzheimers. The works function as little portals to family life, human connection and safe space. The dusk twilight blue connote the touching between contrast notions like comfort and depression, and the comfort people get through from these.
